No matter the size of your apartment, you can always make the most of the entrance hallway. After all, it’s the first thing people see when they visit. And at the end of the day, we all need a space where we can leave our purse, gym bag, keys, or computer backpack.

Even if your apartment is very small, there are simple ways to maximize every inch, including the entryway.

1. Shelving on the wall

If you live in an apartment or small space where square footage is scarce, we have an idea! You can put some shelves on the wall. They take up very little space and are the ideal place to leave the things we have in our pockets and some decorative items or even a photo frame.

2. Take advantage of vertical space

In small spaces, walls often become the focal point. And this is especially true at the entrance. Install a coat rack with several hooks, to leave your coat, purse, umbrella, and all the things that you cannot be without.

You can also opt for a pair of floating shelves, which give extra space.

3. A little storage

If you have a little more room, storage space will always come in handy! The wall console with a hidden drawer is an excellent choice. This useful piece of furniture lets you hide all those little things you don’t quite know where to put otherwise. Another uncommon decor option is to put up a shoe rack for storage.

4. Extra seating

A bench or stool at the entrance of your house has many benefits. You can use it for more storage options or even keep things on top. Some seating comes with built-in drawers and these pieces are easy to move aside when visitors arrive.

Take advantage of the vertical space above the bench and put up a large mirror.

It serves to reflect the light, giving an illusion of space, and why not… to look at yourself just before leaving!

You can also take advantage of the space under a staircase and put some baskets for show or storage.

5. Recycle a metal locker

Whether you buy them new or collect them from an antique store, metal lockers will add style to your entryway. Ideally, opt for a locker per family member and add a seat where you can sit to put on your shoes.
