Luxe Bar Stools
Glam seating is in this fall, from dining chairs to bar stools. We’re sticking with the stools for this section! If you read our recent post on the new fall and winter collections, you know that CB2 collaborated with Kravitz Design by Lenny Kravitz for its latest retro-modern collection. Combining elements of glam, global and earthy motifs, this new line is easy to love. We can’t take our eyes off the Mack Bar Stool, which blends black faux suede and chrome-plated metal tubing:
There’s just something high end about a cantilevered base! This Four Seasons Barstool (manufactured by Knoll and available through Design Within Reach) was created in 1958 by Mies van der Rohe for the Four Seasons restaurant in New York:
What makes a bar stool luxe? A shiny metal base and soft upholstery go a long way in creating an elegant look. In the next image we see the Oviedo Fabric Stool from Restoration Hardware, which is a chic take on retro-modern industrial design:
Textured Pillows
They were a sensation last fall and they’re still going strong this year…what is it about textured pillows that make us feel cozy on a chilly night?! If you’re not into fur and sheepskin, try going faux with this Mongolian Faux Fur Oversized Pillow from Urban Outfitters.
These Faux Fur pillows from West Elm have the soft look and feel of fur, and their grey tones add a sleek touch to the living room or bedroom, especially during the chilliest months of the year!
Tufted cushions can also create a sense of texture, and these Tufted Corduroy Throw Pillows from Urban Outfitters are the perfect way to add impromptu seating during movie night on a chilly fall evening!
Sculptural Vases
Call it geo flair. Call it sculptural style. This fall, displays of sculptural vases are topping mantels, tables and a range of surfaces. Try filling them with seasonal foliage for a modern twist on the fall centerpiece! Below we see the Hex Vase in a vignette from CB2:
This dining room grouping of interesting vases (also from CB2) is the picture of perfect fall style:
These Mercury Grid Vases from West Elm are a metallic take on geo vessel style. Like a cityscape in winter, they can create an enchanting modern outline for fall and winter holidays alike!
