A vacation home is different for different people and staying in a cozy holiday retreat where the hosts are there to help you out with little things makes it even better. Some might love the image of a woodsy cabin surrounded by greenery and others could prefer the charm of beach house. If you fall in the latter category, then you will love the Beech Haus ADU designed by Dyer Studio Inc. in the beautiful Williams Corridor neighborhood. Inspired by the look and feel of conventional beach houses, this lovely holiday escape was once a Tuff Shed garage that was transformed to meet its new needs.
You can notice the transformation even from the outside as the new sliding glass doors welcome guests gleefully. Both on the inside and outside you have a white sheen that takes over with wood and metal making their presence felt. The monochromatic white backdrop aims to bring the coastal appeal of a traditional beach house to this renovated garage unit while the wood accents and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen provide some much needed change in scenery. Red in the form of chairs, rugs and subtly placed accessories adds to the uniqueness of the interior.
Double pocket doors connect the living room with the bedroom even as a large gray sectional and a lovely bed with understated design complete the new holiday home. [Photography: Christopher Dibble]
