A luxurious getaway for the entire family that matches the very best spa hotels and exotic retreats on the planet – House Sperone designed by Studio Metrocubo is a masterpiece that brings together two contrasting worlds. Nestled on the coast of the Adriatic Sea in the city of Novigrad, Croatia, the contemporary holiday home combines the aura of a seaside escape with historic charm brought by the medieval city walls that define it. It is a delightful alchemy that leaves you stunned as classic stone walls interacting with modern glass surfaces create a fabulous and opulent hub replacing an old disco that once occupied the same lot.
It is the old city walls that shape the entrance of the house along with its eastern and southern faces. The walls with their distinct crenelations are turned into the defining feature of the home, as they add character, timeless elegance and textural contrast. Large glass walls and windows completely open up the house towards the west and the north sides, offering unabated views of the Adriatic and the city garden. This use of glass, along with smart windows in the bedroom and above the staircase wall, brings the stone walls and crenelations indoors as well!
The interior is largely contemporary and spread across three lavish levels, with the top floor being reserved for the captivating rooftop terrace and lounge. On the lowest level resides an indoor pool, wellness center and home spa, along with an infinity pool that seems to melt away into the sea that is just a stone’s throw away! Complete with a sauna and two additional bedrooms, this is a level reserved for relaxation and the rejuvenation of family members.
The second level contains the master suite along with other bedrooms, a living area, a kitchen and additional public spaces. Each room offers lovely views of the sea and adds to the comfy ambiance of this dream home that acts as a bridge between the past and the present.
