Antwerp has one of the biggest seaports in all of Europe and while hundreds and thousands of shipping containers make their way through the waters nearby, there are probably no containers like the Sleeping Around Hotel in the Belgian city.
The shipping container hotel concept may not be radically new in itself, but the way in which this particular container hotel operates is definitely innovative and interesting. The Sleeping Around container hotel moves from place to place in the city of Antwerp and offers those visiting the city a chance to stay at different locations depending on where the hotel is currently placed.
The hotel itself is a collection of 20-foot shipping container units. Containers that are left abandoned at the Antwerp port being turned into luxurious and stylish hotel rooms that have all the necessary modern amenities. The mobile retreat employs six container units to provide the four-bedroom hotel that is both environmentally conscious and luxurious at the same time. A rain shower, plush bed, modern lighting and modern amenities like the iPod charging station all await your stay here.
This unique and creative hotel sure looks gorgeous and the smart solution also helps put the discarded units to wonderful use. Just like these amazing shipping container structures, the Sleeping Around Hotel is a gorgeous example of inventive design that ventures away from the beaten path and challenges existing conventions.
