Walking in a pharmacy means instinctively thinking about health or health problems. But this unique Oaza Zdravlja Pharmacy was designed to offer a different view on health issues and describe the “beautiful intricacies of the human body and healing process” through its contemporary design. Those living in Belgrade, Serbia, can easily admire the superb interiors of this inviting pharmacy. Designed by the well-known industrial designer Karim Rashid, the Oaza Zdravlja Pharmacy conveys a feeling of hope and the interior design was created to help with the healing process.
Carefully studying the space, the designer decided to use curvacious lines and a bold mix of colors and lights. Organic shapes help in rendering the idea of health and respect for all things natural and accept the idea of modern technology intertwined in our daily lives. By defining the space with a hovering focal point – the vividly green counter – this pharmacy’s design became a space of reflection of the importance of design in every aspect of our lives: “This form is symbolic of the journey medication takes through the body’s cellular framework. ”
The lights, resembling DNA, on the ceiling and the leaves pattern on the floor complete the overall design and offer specific details that rewire your brain from health problems to admiring contemporary pharmacy design. (found on Contemporist)
