Kona Residence is another beautiful creation of Belzberg Architects. After seeing the Brentwood Residence and the Skyline Residence presented here on Decoist, you might care for another modern residence done by the same architects, just to see how a style evolves and how different clients have different needs when it comes to architecture. The Kona Residence is a single family residence in Hawaii, the result of a collaboration between the talented architects and interior design firm MLK Studio.
Awarded the Freestanding House 2010 Award from Interior Design magazine, the modern home is made of different pods, each bringing new views and opportunities. Two sleeping pods and a central living area composed of the main living, cooking and dining spaces are linked with each other via gallery corridors. Roof mounted photovoltaic panels and dark lava stone heat up the pool water, giving the residence an environmentally conscious set of features. Covering 8,000 square feet, the contemporary Hawaiian residence integrates both volcanic mountain views to the east and ocean panoramas to the west. Take a look at the photos to see how it all fits and enjoy!
