The Brown Residence displays a magnificent modern architecture in Scottsdale, Arizona, where it is located. Capturing a welcoming set of interior and exterior design lines, the modern home was designed by Lake|Flato Architects. Although the house is located in a golf community, the surrounding desert is captured from every interior space, offering the dwellers a splendid natural environment, but keeping them comfortable and happy within confined modern spaces.

Glass and steel was used to build the contemporary home, and extensive overhangs protect the interiors from the harsh desert sun. Expansive use of glass was needed to open up the rooms to panoramic views of distant mountains, but the architects used the modern space arrangement to offer privacy from the neighboring residential buildings. Displaying an apparently small scale from the front facade, the house is built into the sloping terrain, allowing the spaces to be spacious and comfortable.
