The H House, designed by Wiel Arets Architects, is a private residence located in a hilly suburban area near the Netherlands-Belgium border. This magnificent glass house was built for a couple with a strong interest in the arts. The interior design of the H House exists in harmony with the surroundings. This it fits perfectly since the owners of the house, one a dancer and the other an actor, are landscape architects. In the house, there are very few walls. A few rectangular columns support the structural slabs, and all the other walls are glass ones.
In place of the interior walls you will find light, ethereal curtains which act as room dividers. These curtains create a soft and relaxing atmosphere inside the house. Vitra Panton chairs create a touch of organic contrast to balance out the eye-catching staircase that has been conceived as an independent sculptural object. And it’s much cozier upstairs. The design has been dominated by creams, whites, and leather. And, the owners show off their landscaping skills occasionally by opening the garden behind the house to the public.
