This beautiful and modern penthouse in Plaza Cataluña, Barcelona, was designed by Ylab Architects. The concept behind this renovation was the merger of comfortable and modern design with the sophistication of a luxurious hotel. Starting with a new layout, the architects designed the floor plan and the arrangement of new furniture items. The penthouse apartment was bought by a young couple who occasionally lives in Spain, so it had to encompass all the necessities and feel like home.
Modern furniture and decorative details were carefully chosen to convey the feeling of a spacious home in the middle of the city. Features like safety, automation, audio, video and climate technology were used to give the apartment the high-tech touch it needed. The exterior wall, floor and ceiling was painted in ivory, while the dark grey elm wood furniture creates a contrasting effect, giving the long and narrow space more character.
