The exceptional Dune House resulted from a collaboration between Oslo-based architecture firm JVA and contemporary architecture studio Mole Architects from Britain. Located on England’s East coast, the house can be recognized by its dynamic pitched roof. The holiday home South of Thorpeness, Suffolk, displays a combination of locally resourced materials and modern design lines, situated among the dunes. The fantastic shape of the house is defined by a contemporary vision of the intimate and entertaining spaces, completed by the differentiated abstract form of the roof clad in a tinted steel alloy that seems to be floating over the main living spaces.
Fully glazed, the ground floor features public and entertaining space, while the rooftop floor displays a collection of four bedrooms, each having unique shapes due to the roof’s abstract shape. This allows the private quarters to open up to extensive North Sea views and the terraces give the inhabitants an even stronger connection to nature. What do you think about the Dune House?
