The Bergman Werntoft House designed by Johan Sundberg is located in Mossvägen, Ljunghusen, Sweden. Surrounded by a vast vegetation of pine trees that ensure a healthy environment, the one storey house features an outer brick wall that protects the inhabitant’s privacy. The other facade, facing the interior courtyard, is mostly glazed and displays a modern dynamism given by the doors and windows that move in and out of alignment along the outer walls.
Based on the Danish atrium house typology from the 60s and 70s, the Bergman Werntoft House controls the natural light received by the interiors by displaying large windows and light wells throughout. Private areas and bathrooms are situated in the northern part of the house, while the eastern wing contains the living area. Beautiful in its simplicity, the house breaks the monotony of the forest and offers a healthy, relaxed lifestyle.
