The Chestnut Residence, designed by Dan Heinfeld from LPA Architects, occupies a leading role in contemporary house design. With its beautiful and eco-friendly interior and exterior design, the house features recycled materials, VOC-free paint throughout and sensors that turn off lights when nobody is in the room. Solar panels mounted on the roof ensure the full use of natural energy. Besides having a flawless layout, the Chestnut Residence also fulfils the inhabitant’s need for privacy and comfort. Dan Heinfeld is not only the architect, but also the in habitant. His work has created a personalized construction, with the living spaces situated around a central courtyard. A pool quenches the thirst for a power swim and accentuates the feelings of relaxation and joy during the morning coffee by the edge of the pool. Located in California, the house also utilizes the beautiful weather: air flow and natural sunlight are welcomed by the openings and large sliding doors.
