Remember the trend of churches re-adapted into residences ? Now wrap your mind around another breathtaking space reconversion, the 100 foot tall water tower residence.
The Belgian residence was re-adapted by Bham Design Studio with maintenance of local preservation rules redarding the original materials, concrete and exposed brick, and several building codes. The result is a facsinating, fun and challenging seven story cylindrical home. The unsual shape situation makes for a gradual and vertical access into the house, from entry and functional spaces toward the living and dining areas and work spaces, up to the bedrooms, bathrooms and private spaces for relaxation. They are reached through a grand spiral staircase, as expected of such an eccentric home, and feature sleek and modern furnishing that only complement the shape of the rooms which is an exciting spectacle itself. The high point of the residence, literally, is the wider loft area with a 360 degree panoramic view of the surroundings.
